Long revered as a powerful rejuvenator, yerba maté has been consumed by the people of South America for many centuries. Both nutritious and stimulating, yerba maté contains natural caffeine, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants providing an invigorating rush of energy while calming the nerves, and promoting incredible clarity of mind. Yerba maté is a social drink in Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay where it is shared customarily out of a hollowed-out gourd in a gesture of community and hospitality. The Gauchos (Argentine cowboys) drink maté as their "liquid vegetable", relying on its array of nutrients to power them throughout the day. People have survived periods of drought and famine drinking yerba maté and revere it as the drink of the gods. In Argentina, yerba maté is consumed 7 to 1 over coffee, and is believed to lift the spirit: "Te levanta el espíritu.

What Customers Say About Guayaki Yerba Mate Traditional Yerba Mate 1/2lb. Loose Tea:

Yerba Mate tea is extremely good for you and can be sweetened with stevia is needed. From the order date to delivery it takes less than a week and is packaged well.
I found it a little expensive or 1/2 pound. The product taste wise is very good. Additionally, it contains a lot of leaf "dust", which is annoying to remove.
I like mine with soy milk.Yummmy. Certainly not for everyone, but if you enjoy strong herbal teas, you'll likely enjoy this. Delicious product, tastes just like the Mate my local bakery brews. I really enjoy this company's products and its customer service and would definitely buy from them again. If you've never tried it, Yerba Mate tastes faintly smoky, bright, and almost grassy (in a good way). One of the best parts is the caffeine content--it pumps me up like coffee without any of the weird side effects (jitters, sweats, etc).
